My love.
My beautiful, sweet, wonderful LOVE!
I just got off of the phone with my boo.
My baby, my son, my sugarplum Saidon (Sai).
He’s so awesome and so handsome and do you know what my baby SAID?!!
So my son and I usually sit up on the phone caking. He is a great conversationalist and I enjoy talking to him more than any other male in my life. Tonight we were gabbing up a storm as he told me about his friends, his Xmas list and so many other random topics.
He said to me, “I have a feeling I’m going to be wealthy. Not rich, wealthy.”
“I have a feeling it is going to happen sooner than you think,” I encouraged him.
“See. It’s like this,” he said. “I feel like no matter what happens, I can still come out on top. Say for some reason, I don’t make good grades in school and I get all C’s and D’s and God forbid, I have to drop out.”
Huh?
“Yeah, but say I do. I can always just go to Broward Community College and get a license to become a barber. I can save up and open my own shop, then open at least 2 more. THEN, I can start investing that money into bigger projects and that’s how I’ll make my wealth.”
I sat there in shock and I listed to this 13’year-old’s business plan.
“I just have to stay focused and stop being so lazy!” he said more to himself than to me.
I almost fell out.
I know school isn’t the end all be all. In fact, I believe formal education is just a gateway to working for others so it really made me PROUD that my baby had a plan in his head that he came up with all by himself.
I love my baby! I love my boo!
I think he’s going to be alright in life.
I really do.
