College couples were surveyed and offered a daily diary to report on the challenges in their relationship after consuming alcohol and/or smoking marijuana. The University of Tennessee research team found that men were far more likely to be physically, psychologically or sexually aggressive against their mate after drinking alcohol than they would if they were high from marijuana.

The study included the women’s version and found that women were more likely to be physically aggressive with their partner after drinking alcohol but were psychologically aggressive after using marijuana.

Regardless, the results indicate that couples who smoke marijuana are more likely to get on each other’s nerves through verbal arguments but less likely to end up with a physical injury since marijuana use was completely unrelated to violence between partners.
