Today I started Shaun T’s Rocking Body. I have no weight loss goals but I do want to a woman who cares about my body. Since I did the Sugar Detox, I have been so much more careful about what I eat. Yes, I still eat sugary foods like cookies and sometimes I drink Frappuccinos but otherwise I am very careful not to intake more calories than I burn and I feel good about it.

So I’ve been walking for an hour everyday, trying to find hills to climb as I walk through my neighborhood, needing to feel the burn. Now, Shaun T is taking me a new level in fitness and I feel great about it, but it’s not easy. Here’s a video I made during my first week of Rockin Body with Shaun T. Notice how I’m panting, almost about to pass the hell out during the sprints.

Week 1

I didn’t weigh myself before I began Shaun T’s Rockin Body because I don’t own a scale and I don’t want to own one. I know myself and I am obsessive and I don’t want to live and die by the scale. Instead I took a photo of myself wearing little booty shorts and will compare photos to see if there are any changes.

During Week 1, I managed to make it through ALL of the exercises even though at times I felt like I couldn’t. I found myself so sore immediately after my workouts and the next day that I could barely walk to the store without groaning. I’m not a dancer so I was a bit annoyed that some of the workouts in Shaun T’s Rockin Body felt more like learning dance routines. At first this discouraged me but I wouldn’t give up and then I realized that I’m more of a dancer than I ever thought I was.

By the end of the first week, I was glad to have a rest day which helped my sore aching muscles so much. I was also proud that I finished a full week.

Week 2

Week 2 began feeling proud of myself. After being introduced to the routines a couple of times now, I felt a little more comfortable with them. Instead of bashing myself for not keeping up, I was able to smile and add my own swagger to the dances.

I found that this week I didn’t hurt as much as I did the first week. This week, instead of feeling sore, I felt tired more than anything after my workouts. Immediately after  I would eat a meal and then sleep for 4 hours. I don’t know if this is a good or a bad thing but this became my norm during week 2.

I also noticed that the exercises that made me want to cry, like the sprints in Party Express, no longer made me cry. I actually smiled through them and felt victorious during week 2.

Once again, I did not weigh or measure myself but I FEEL good about myself and it looks like I am toning up a bit in my mid section. I already have nice toned legs, my mid section is very jiggly though.

Next Up- INSANITY

This clip is of him showing his Insanity workout. I’m nowhere near this level yet but I’ll get there.
